Academic Cooperation Tunisian-French academics


The academic work of the 20th session of the Tunisian-French Joint Committee, were closed today October 17, with the participation of Tunisian and French researchers. Lazhar Bououni, Minister of Higher Education Scientific Research and Technology, said at the opening of the meeting the importance placed by Tunisia and France, for scientific research and teaching higher, reviewing the evolution of national university system, and stressing the attention drawn by President Ben Ali in his electoral program, the compliance of the University of Tunisia, and dusystème education with international standards.

He valued the intervention of the French-Tunisian Joint Committee for Cooperation, created in 1989, the program aims to evaluate and select research projects and scientific interventions on the field of mathematics, its applications and different ways to manage water resources in the Maghreb.

It should be noted that one of presidential interest in the preparations for the new academic year has been to focus on promising pathways to high employability, particularly those relating to engineering studies.

He therefore stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation, opening new horizons for a number of disciplines such as engineering education and virtual universities, believing that self-education has become a key concept in the new pedagogies in higher education.

It should be recalled since 2000, the Tunisian-French Joint Commission has funded more than 500 joint research projects in the field of humanities and social sciences, biotechnology, health and communication technologies, renewable energy and development sustainable.
